Team 5 Loses Third Game

Team 5 played what could have been their worst game of the season.  After the month layoff, they came out flat, couldn't swing a bat, and couldn't field a ball.  Heath Keller, who pitched three scoreless innings to start the game, lost it in the fourth giving up two runs.  In the fifth, Keller gave up four more, with the help of some less than stellar defense and the route was on.

Team 5, who had swung the bats pretty well all year long, just couldn't find it at the plate.  Striking out 12 times during the course of the game is not a good thing.  "After the third inning I made some good pitches and some bad pitches.  They hit them all".  Keller was quoted as saying.

Having a chance to be 1 1/2 games up on the A's with one week to play would have put Team 5 in the drivers seat.  But with A's Team 6 easily handling the other A's team 16-4, Team 5 needs a victory and a little help to win the championship.

Rob Weber, who scored Team 5's only run of the ballgame was 2-4 on the day.  Hank Villancourt provided the RBI single in the ninth to keep from getting shutout.
